Securitas Belgium trains countless students in Emergency Response (BHV) every year. To make these trainings even more realistic and accessible, Securitas, together with FireWare, proudly presents their fifth mobile training center: the brand-new Fire Fighting Training Truck. A true next step in professionalism, sustainability, and comfort.
A clear ambition
The driving force behind this project? Christophe van Eesbeek from Securitas. With one clear mission: to build a Firetruck that raises the bar once again. Together with FireWare, he took on the challenge—resulting in an impressive outcome.
From sea container to gooseneck trailer
The first four Firetrucks were built using sea containers. Simple, strong, and reliable—a logical basis for the first generation. Different requirements were set for the fifth trailer. That’s why the choice was made for a gooseneck trailer. Smart, because the lower floor and higher ceiling create a much more spacious and accessible feeling. This form offers more comfort, more appeal, and more options for exercise variety.
Upon entry, students arrive in a hall where they first turn right into the theory room. Here too, comfort was a top priority: you don’t feel like you’re sitting in a truck, but in a neat, comfortable room with daylight. The gooseneck is perfectly suited for a tiered seating setup, ensuring every participant has an optimal view of the instructor and presentation screen. This location also allows monitoring of the exercises in the practice room via the camera system.
Clever approach to repetition
The other half of the trailer is dedicated to practical training. Here, students can practice extinguishing gas-fueled fire outbreaks using small extinguishing tools. Mobile training spaces are compact, making variation a challenge: with refresher courses, scenarios risk becoming predictable. This Firetruck offers a creative solution.
With sliding walls, new situations are constantly created. One wall even contains a door, enabling the creation of corridors, closets, extra rooms, and obstacles: no exercise is ever the same! And the rear loading ramp? It transforms into an outdoor training platform. This not only adds more dynamics, but also allows the full throw length of the fire hose reel to be used.
Realistic training, flexible design
The fire outbreaks are powered by FireWare Vesta extinguishing trainers. These mobile units can easily be positioned under interchangeable setups. This way, the training room can be quickly converted: from kitchen to care room, or from office to industrial environment.
A special multifunctional folding panel has been developed for this purpose, which can be transformed in an instant into a desk, bed, or kitchen counter. This ensures a fresh scenario is ready for every extinguishing attempt.
More sustainable and cleaner
A major step forward has also been taken in terms of sustainability. Fires fueled by Exxsol and powder extinguishers are a thing of the past. The new truck works with gas-fueled flames and extinguishing systems including refillable Neptune foam extinguishers. No soot, no powder: a clean learning environment and better for the environment.
Thanks to two built-in filling stations, the extinguishers are immediately ready for reuse. This saves significant logistical movements and costs.
Safe and easy to use
The entire installation can be operated with a single compact remote control. Flames, smoke, lighting, ventilation, and slow-whoop alarms: everything is easily managed from the palm of your hand.
Safety is ensured with temperature, CO, and LEL sensors, double emergency stops, and an automatic safety switch.
Deployable anywhere
With a 1,000-liter clean- and wastewater tank, a generous gas supply, and a Li-ion battery pack, the truck can operate completely off-the-grid. Ideal for locations without facilities and for a quick start-up.
Built together
The design was created in co-creation between Securitas and FireWare. By mapping the training needs, a substantiated Program of Requirements was drawn up. Based on this, multiple designs were made. By carefully weighing the pros and cons, one final design was chosen: a truck that met all of Securitas’ requirements. Not only on a technical level, but also in terms of sustainability, ease of use, comfort, and didactics. With that document as a foundation, the market was explored. The choice fell on trailer builder Moeyersons, who matched the requirements perfectly.
The collaboration went smoothly: Moeyersons not only executed the design but even improved it. The result is an impressive trailer that brings together the expertise of Securitas, FireWare, and Moeyersons. Every detail has been carefully considered. You’ll see and feel it as soon as you step into this mobile training center.
Ready for the future
In the summer of 2025, the Fire Fighting Training Truck officially hit the road. A valuable addition to the Securitas training portfolio. We are proud of this result and wish all future students an educational and enjoyable training experience!
