FireWare at the Hobrand demo day
On Thursday November 1st, 2018 the training facility “Trainingscentrum Delta Safety” in Rotterdam organised a demo day. It has appeared from practical experience that both the fire department and the industry feel the need to try out and compare different training products prior to their actual purchase. That is why our dealer Hobrand Algebra invited the FireWare simulation specialists and technicians to demonstrate the FireWare training materials. We have asked our colleagues Merijn and Stefan to visit this demo day in order to introduce its visitors to the FireWare training materials.
Visitors could physically experience the FireWare simulation material brought by Merijn and Stefan during an on-site workshop. Thus, the visitors could have a close look at the simulation materials. The FireWare Vesta promptly attracted the attention when it was used to stage a garbage bin fire, a grease fire and a gas fire, all with real flames and with the least bit of effort. There were also fire extinguish training demonstrations without the use of real flames. These were staged with the Silkflame. In order to emphasize the realistic character of the trainings, we used the smoke machines we had brought. The stand visitors could experience a simulated fire in all of its sensorial aspects with the help of our training materials for simulating sound, scent and smoke.
The Mini PPV trainer could also count on a crowd. This PPV trainer allows to demonstrate how to apply positive pressure ventilation by means of smoke that is introduced into a transparent house. This house is also fit to be used for experimenting with tactical, repressive ventilation. The air flow in the house can be guided through the various floors by opening and closing slides.
It is very important to properly prepare rescue services for real situations. It is also desirable to train various situations during one single training session. Watching our stand visitors experiment with our training materials was a real treat! We are looking back at a successful demo day. Our FireWare simulation workshop was well-received, as it appeared from a survey. Two out of three respondents rated the workshop “good”. None of the respondents evaluated the demonstrations insufficient. We want to thank you all for visiting our stand!
