July is the time to take a breath and look back. Each of the past five months at FireWare has revolved around a different theme. Each month you could read about a new aspect of realistic staging on our socials and in our blogs. Time for a quick review. <\/strong><\/p>\n\t

February: all about smoke <\/h1>\n

Perhaps not the most exciting subject at first glance, but smoke forms the basis of almost every staging. No fire without smoke! Especially in simulated fires, this is literally true, because you can’t create convincing flame simulations without smoke. In February, we delved into the creation of smoke layers, the use of smoke in chemical exercises and the operation of smoke machines and smoke liquids. <\/p>\n

March: training with real fire<\/h1>\n

A staging does not have to include only simulated fire. In March we were talking about real fire and we made the distinction between Workplace First Aid and Fire Safety training and firefighter training. Workplace First Aid and Fire Safety officers often train with gas-fired extinguisher trainers . These confront trainees with real flames, and enable training with small extinguishers. In fire training you can use those same extinguisher trainers very differently. We talked about hybrid staging: a combination of real flames and simulation. April: victims in the lead<\/h1>\n
