Dummies asking for help
Get a training dummy to shout for help with the Shout Box. Record a message of no more than 60 seconds beforehand and play this back with a time interval, or by using the Vox function. The Shout Box would subsequently react to voices.
Position the Shout Box in the training area, or lay it next to the victim dummy. This set even includes a special mask, which will allow you to virtually hide the Shout Box in the dummy’s head. When students call out: ‘Is there anyone there?’, the Shout Box will react to the sound and play back the pre-recorded message. This will create a realistic interaction between the rescuer and the victim.
You can arrange for a colleague to record the cry for help for extra recognition. Or use the name of one of the students in the recording: ‘Mike, is that you? Please come and help me! I am stuck underneath a cupboard and I can’t feel my legs!’
