“This product combination cannot be placed in a single shopping basket”. We at FireWare would rather not have you receive this notification either. But, in practice, it’s very hard to avoid. We’d like to explain why. Our shop has 2 types of shopping baskets:
- One for rental items and consumables that go with them
- One for the products from our sales range
Both products are “treated” differently. A rental item will (if all goes well) return to FireWare. And a sales product goes out into the world and does not come back (if all goes well).
This error message will therefore be sent as soon as a product from our webshop is placed in a shopping basket that already contains a rental item. Or vice versa. It is very complex and expensive to program and maintain this combination in one shopping basket. So complex and costly that we have decided to embrace this imperfection in the webshop for the time being. Of course, we will make sure the orders for both rental and sales items are executed perfectly!
How can I still place my order?
Combining the products in one shopping basket is not possible. But, you can place two separate orders. Because FireWare works with one system for our company administration, we can immediately see that the orders belong together. We’ll contact you to discuss whether we can send the entire order in one go. In that case, of course, you will not pay double shipping costs.
Combining a rental product with consumables
Some products from our web shop are regularly added to a quotation request for rental items. For example, the combination of a smoke machine with smoke liquid. The smoke machine is rented for extra power and the appropriate smoke liquid is ordered as well. These extra ordered products are known to us as consumables.
We have worked very hard to be able to place all consumables in the shopping basket of a rental request. And, sorry for the headache programmer, we succeeded! You can find the consumables in our online rental catalogue. Nice and clear!
